The Le Volte apartment in Perugia was an amazing place to stay the night. We wish we had more than one night there, because it really felt like home. There was a complete kitchen, full bedroom, living room, dining room, and bathroom. The staff really makes things easy for you and breakfast is provided in the room so you can eat whenever you like. They also did an amazing job of modernizing what is such an old apartment, without losing the "ancient" feel.

The only caution I would provide is that the steps from the street up to the main door of the apartment building are uneven, stone (slippery when wet), and there is no banister. If you're uneasy on your feet, it may be a bit dangerous to climb the steps.

This was a marvellous place to stay. The apartment was very thoughtfully presented and right in the heart of the city. The staff were extremely helpful and provided great advice. It made our stay in Perugia a wonderful experience. I would certainly go back.

Loriana was wonderful upon our arrival, and the apartment was just beautiful! The stone structure, period furniture and lovely art was a pleasure to return to each evening. I had read a review that commented on the many steps to the apartment, but from our experience, there were far fewer than the other places we had stayed (1 flight, as opposed to 2 or 3 at other apartments). Loriana had left us with a selection of food and drinks for breakfast throughout our stay. She also invited us to her hotel (around the corner) for a coffee on our departure. We were left with maps and the apartment also had a selection of guide books and novels left by previous guests, which was a nice touch. With the kids on sofa beds in the living room, it meant we couldn't watch TV after they had gone to bed - but we knew this was the arrangement before we arrived, and were so tired each evening, it didn't really matter!

The apartment is as special and welcoming as is the owner Loriana.Beautifully renovated and surprisingly spacious, given it is situated in the center of a medieval town.
We stayed for 3 nights giving time to explore Perugia and the surrounding villages.
Very good value for money - which is also the case for the little family driven restaurant opposite the apartment called il Cantinone .

We stayed in this stunning apartment in late March 2012. Loriana was so charming and helpful throughout the booking process and upon our arrival. An apartment filled with character, beautiful artwork, pottery and exceptional lighting. Add in a perfect location , and this apartment ticks all the boxes. I've stayed in many apartments around the world, and this is a favourite.

The casatorre le volte is unforgettable, as is the hospitality from Loriana and her faimly, who own the nearby Albergo Morlacchi. It is the first floor of a 1,000 year old Archbishop's tower, just off (100m) the central square and Cathedral. We were renting a private garage from a friend of Loriana but our sat nav gave up in the narrow streets and we eventually rang for assistance! Loriana's husband guided us on his scooter and the garage was good, just by the hotel. The path up to the apartment is steep so don't take too much but you won't need it - the apartment is very fully equipped, including breakfast brioches and cereal! It is also beautiful with its vaulted roof - no space to sit out but then there are all the bars and restaurants.....
Some people in reviews on the website have commented about the steps - there are about 6, very much set up like a mounting block and now with a handrail. No guardrail so probably not suitable for young children. Inside the door there are 14 normal stairs, with a rail, leading to the first floor door and then you have the beauty of the apartment, which others have described. There is nothing that you will want for here, apart from a washing machine but Loriana will help anyway she can. We had our adult daughter here for most of the week and she slept happily on a sofa bed in the main room, with everything provided for her for 10 euros a day. Lots of restaurants close by and one (Il Cantinone) at the foot of the stairs.
You need the lights on but windows open well and, even with the festival, there wasn't much noise - plenty enough light to read by and great wifi. Streets are washed and cleaned during the night, which may disturb some really light sleepers but we were happy.
This was one of our best weeks ever - thanks to Loriana and her family for a great stay.

I stayed here in April of 201 and loved it. Loriana was very helpful and welcoming. I loved being in a 1000 year old tower. The wifi was good and it was lovely to have a comfortable couch with good lighting. I felt very comfortable and safe there despite being alone. There could be no better location in Perugia.

An ideal central location in the medieval centre of Perugia with spectacular ambience. The welcome was warm and the assistance from Loriana was everything we could have hoped for from a host. Highly recommended for a couple or a family with two older children.
